Science
Persona Analytics is built on original psychometric assessment models developed from scratch in collaboration with nearly 30 academics from six universities.
How Persona’s personality inventory was validated
Persona’s nine-dimensional personality inventory was developed and tested in a multi-stage validation study with Turkish adults. These are its headline results.
- academics from six universities
- ~30
- adults in two independent samples
- 1,140
- N = 563 and N = 577
- items load on their intended dimension
- 99 / 99
- exploratory factor analysis
- kept the same dominant profile after four weeks
- 85.1%
- test–retest, n = 87
How the inventory was built
Item pool
~160 itemsItems written to represent nine conceptually distinct personality dimensions.
Expert review
3 rounds → 110 itemsEvery item checked against all eight other dimensions, and for social desirability and transparency.
Field testing
N = 563 → 99 itemsItem analysis removed 11 weak items; a four-week retest checked stability.
Independent validation
N = 577Reliability, factor structure, discriminant validity and convergence with an established Turkish inventory.
- Oblique rotation for related dimensions
- DWLS estimation for ordinal answers
- Convergence tested at four levels
- Full results reported transparently
High internal consistency in every dimension
Cronbach’s α for each of the nine dimensions in the independent validation sample (N = 577). Values above .90 are generally considered excellent.
Data table
| Dimension | Cronbach’s α |
|---|---|
| Dimension 1 | .955 |
| Dimension 2 | .956 |
| Dimension 3 | .947 |
| Dimension 4 | .929 |
| Dimension 5 | .95 |
| Dimension 6 | .959 |
| Dimension 7 | .948 |
| Dimension 8 | .946 |
| Dimension 9 | .956 |
McDonald’s ω gave the same range (.929–.959).
A clearly supported nine-factor structure
Confirmatory factor analysis of the nine-dimension model, compared with conventional cut-offs (DWLS, N = 577).
- CFI
- .994
- excellent fit: ≥ .95
- RMSEA
- .026
- close fit: ≤ .06
- SRMR
- .053
- acceptable fit: ≤ .08
- of item variance explained by nine factors
- 66.4%
- exploratory factor analysis
Nine dimensions that stay clearly apart
Average absolute correlation between Persona’s nine dimensions, compared with the range typically reported for earlier inventories of the same type. Lower means the dimensions measure more distinct things.
Data table
| Measure | Correlation between dimensions |
|---|---|
| Earlier inventories, typical range | .20–.50 |
| Persona inventory, mean | .049 |
Persona: mean |φ| between factors = .049 (maximum .128). Typical range from published reviews (Hook et al., 2021; Newgent et al., 2004).
Consistent over time and with established measures
- same dominant profile after four weeks
- 85.1%
- n = 87
- mean test–retest correlation
- .954
- range .930–.978
- agreement with an established Turkish inventory
- 68.5%
- n = 254
- Cohen’s κ — substantial agreement
- .645
- p < .001
Reading the results responsibly
These results come from Persona’s validation study with Turkish adults. The independent validation sample consisted mainly of white-collar professionals with prior experience of personality assessment, who tend to give more clearly differentiated profiles. The study itself notes that replication in more diverse samples is needed before the findings can be generalized.
Persona HR and Persona EDU have also been refined through pilot engagements in company and school environments, where feedback shaped workflows and modules.
